[origin: EP0886018A2] A light dome, a ventilator etc. are located on a building roof using a mounting ring (1). The ring has an metal inner shell (2), a bent metal sheet outer shell (3), and an intermediate thermal insulation section (4). Preferably the outer shell is made of plastics-coated or plastics-laminated metal sheet, as a one-piece formed part with a bent section (3') corresponding to the thickness of the thermal insulation section. The outer shell may have upper (6) and lower (7) formed corner parts and single- or multi-piece corner parts may be provided along the height of the mounting ring.
