Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9829296A1] A device is disclosed for actuating a switching axle (30) operationally connected to a bottom bracket axle shift gear (10) for a bicycle or the like. The switching axle (30) is coaxially arranged and mounted in a driving shaft (35) fitted at least at one end with a pedal crank (1, 2) secured against rotation. In order to shift gears, a first coupling member (23) arranged on the driving shaft (35) can be shifted in the axial direction by the switching axle (30), thereby bringing the force transmission elements of the bottom bracket axle shift gear (10) into interlocking and force-transmitting engagement. To ensure the displacement in the axial direction, a second control body (45) operationally connected by a second coupling member (40) to the switching axle (30) is provided at the other end of the driving shaft. When the control body (45) is rotated around the longitudinal axis (X) with respect to a fixed housing part (25) provided with at least one regulating member (27), the control body (45) can move in the axial direction. The control body (45) is rotated for example by an actuator operationally connected thereto and capable of rotating around the longitudinal axis (X).
