[origin: EP0887122A2] The cleaning appliance has a high pressure pump (8) with a drive unit (6), and is formed as a gear pump with an internally toothed gear ring (9), and externally toothed pinion (10) having a different number of teeth. Parts of the pump coming into contact with the cleaning water consist of a corrosion-proof material, especially a metal compound. The gear ring and pinion preferably consist of material having sufficient surface hardness in water and good sliding characteristics, and are preferably of a sintered material. This material preferably has a plasma-nitride-treated surface.
