the cutter has a blade arrangement movable transversely w.r.t. the direction of motion of the material strip with a first blade unit (3) on one side of the material strip and a second unit (4) on the other side. The first blade unit has a drive with a positioning unit. A wireless signal transmission path (22) is formed between the first and second blade units. The second blade unit has a tracking arrangement (16). A magnetic field generating device (14,16) or electromagnet is arranged at one end of the signal transmission path. The tracking arrangement consists of the magnetic coupling between the blade units.

Es wird eine Schneideinrichtung (1) zum Schneiden einer Materialbahn (2) in Teilbahnen angegeben, mit einer Messeranordnung, die quer zur Laufrichtung der Materialbahn bewegbar ist und eine erste Messereinheit (3) auf einer Seite der Materialbahn (2) und eine zweite Messereinheit (4) auf der anderen Seite der Materialbahn (2) aufweist, wobei die erste Messereinheit einen Antrieb (10) mit Positioniereinheit aufweist. Bei einer derartigen Schneideinrichtung möchte man eine genaue und schnelle Einstellung der Messeranordnung mit geringem Aufwand erreichen. Hierzu ist zwischen der ersten Messereinheit (3,) und der zweiten Messereinheit (4,) eine leitungslose Signalübertragungsstrecke (22,) ausgebildet, und die zweite Messereinheit (4,) weist eine Nachführeinrichtung (16) auf. <IMAGE>
