[origin: EP0887448A2] A yarn is made from fibres that are produced from sliver (6) by an opening roller (4) and are then sucked on to a perforated collecting surface (12). The fibre bundle is deposited without twist on the continuously moving collecting surface (12) as a sliver (31) and is consolidated by twisting in a subsequent twisting zone (24). Also claimed is a recirculating collecting surface (12) with a narrow strip of perforations that run over and cover suction openings (21). The recirculating collecting surface (12) is followed by a twisting device (24).
