[origin: EP0887494A2] Each of the two tumblers (10,11) consists of a core pin (10) and a housing pin (11) guided in bores (9) crosswise in the cylinder core (6). The spring-loaded housing pins exert pressure on the outer ends (13) of the core pins. In a release position, the top surfaces (16) of the core pins fit into the recesses in the key's profiled part so that the other ends (13) of the core pins lie in the outer surface of the cylinder core. The head (16) of a core pin exerts pressure on a pre-set part of the peripheral wall (15) of at least one of the recesses (14). The peripheral surface is intersected at an angle of between 80 and 100 degrees by the longitudinal centre line of the core pin.
