[origin: EP0887509A1] A sun protection installation has horizontal lamellae (12) which are gathered together to a packet (14) in the retracted state and in the extended state, hang at certain distances on carrier elements (16) on both longitudinal sides of the lamellae. The angular position of the lamellae is determined by the position of the carrier elements on one longitudinal side in relation the carrier elements on the other longitudinal side. The lamellae lie gathered together in the retracted state below the surface to be shaded. Above the lamellae is provided a combined elevating and turning rail (18) on which, on one hand, elevator elements (28) are fastened that allow up and down travel of the elevating and turning rail, and on the other hand, the carrier elements are fastened. Between the rail and the elevator elements is provided a positioning element with which the inclination of the elevator elements can be adjusted.
