Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0887616A2] The shell (1) or warhead has a housing (6) with trough shaped cutouts (10) which are oriented longitudinally and are enveloped by a thin, easily destructible cover (5). The housing within the region (7) consists of at least two layers (6, 15, 16). The material in the region of the cutout (10) is transformed into heavy splinters in accordance with a projectile forming, shaped explosive charge.
