[origin: EP0887806A2] The electric cable has a number of circular cross-section metal conductors (1,2) enclosed by an insulating cable mantle (3). The conductors are positioned side-by-side to provide an elongate cable cross-section. At least one of the metal conductors (1) is rigidly fixed to the cable insulating mantle, while at least one further metal conductor (2) can slide longitudinally relative to this conductor and the cable insulating mantle.
