[origin: EP0888826A2] The applicator has a hollow applicator roller, which has a number of openings in its surface (42) for applying adhesive. A heatable distributor (24), which delivers liquid adhesive (48) over a scraper along the length of the roller has a holder (26), which extends over the length of the roller, to hold the scraper in contact with the inner wall of the applicator roller. A tube (44), which is separate from the holder, is arranged along the length of the applicator roller, and has an outlet (46) to deliver the adhesive to a zone near the contact point of the scraper at the inner wall of the applicator roller. The tube is of a material with good heat conductivity, such as copper.
