Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0889155A1] Detecting unacceptable operating conditions in a hot air laundry dryer (1) with a laundry drum (7) comprises recording the temperature of the supply air current above the supply air heater (19) and before the drum (7) periodically. A difference value or a gradient is created from two successively recorded values and compared to a preset difference value. When the newly created difference value is greater in absolute terms than the preset difference value, a counting value is raised by a step and this value is compared with a preset counting value. When the actual value is greater than the preset value, the heating of the dryer is switched off and/or an operating condition display is activated.
