A process for the production of pre-impregnates (prepregs) comprises impregnating base paper with a liquid containing (a) an aqueous dispersion based on an acrylate ester/styrene copolymer (CP1), (b) a dry-strengthener based on a copolymer (CP2) of (meth)acrylamide and (meth)acrylic acid, and (c) water, using 0.3-13 pts. wt. dry CP1 per 1 pt. wt. dry CP2. Also claimed are (i) prepregs obtained by this process and (ii) an impregnating liquid as above.

Beschrieben wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Vorimprägnats, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß ein Rohpapier mit einer Imprägnierflotte imprägniert wird, die a) eine wäßrige Dispersion auf Basis eines Acrylsäureester/Styrol-Copolymers, b) einen Trockenverfestiger auf Basis eines Copolymerisats aus (Meth-)Acrylamid und (Meth-)Acrylsäure und c) Wasser enthält, wobei pro Gew.-Teil trockenem Copolymerisat aus (Meth-)Acrylamid und (Meth-)Acrylsäure etwa 0,3 bis 13 Gew.-Teile trockenes Acrylsäureester/Styrol-Copolymer eingesetzt werden. Das mit dem Verfahren erhältliche Vorimprägnat dient zur Herstellung von Dekorverbundgebilden, wie dekorativen Laminaten und verschiedenen Möbelteilen.
