Abstract (en)
The rotary bolt (2) and retaining catch (1) are pivoted (2b,1b) on the door latch-plate (3). An electrical actuator, energised by initial door-handle (5a) movement, normally overcomes pressure at the catch notch (1a,2a) and rotates the catch, liberating the bolt. Door or body-work deformation following an accident may, however, increase the pressures on bolt and catch beyond the ability of a practicable actuator to overcome. To counter this, further door-handle rotation applies tension to a cable (8,9) connected to the centre pivot of an over-centre linkage (6b,6c) operating between a fixed pivot and a sliding finger (6a). Fully straightened, the linkage forces the finger against a stop (7) on the bolt, relieving pressure at the catch. The actuator trips the catch, freeing the bolt, which is able to release the door as the continued rise of the handle retracts the finger.

Un organe électrique de commande est conformé pour commander mécaniquement un organe de déblocage 6 agissant directement sur le pêne 2 de la serrure.
