[origin: EP0889231A1] The fuel injection system has a high-pressure fuel reservoir (5), supplied via a fuel pump, for supplying fuel to a number of fuel injection valves (6). These are electrically controlled for injecting fuel into corresponding engine cylinders, the high-pressure fuel reservoir having respective connection points (26), for direct connection to the housing of each fuel injection valve.
