[origin: WO9737873A1] The invention concerns a device for interrupting the flow of current in a cable leading from the battery disposed in a motor vehicle to a consumer likewise disposed in the motor vehicle, such as the starter motor, engine, or the like. According to the invention, a housing (1, 2, 3) is provided with two mutually electrically insulated terminals (11, 21) for the lines (13, 23) leading to the battery and the consumer. The housing (1, 2, 3) is further provided with a switch (5) which is disposed in the housing interior (10) and is associated with an adjusting device (4) which can be triggered by a sensor and the triggering of which actuates the switch (5).
