Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19612134A1] The invention concerns a wiper blade for cleaning vehicle windscreens, the wiper blade having a wiper strip (2) which is made of resiliently deformable material and comprises two mutually parallel wiper lips (13) and an intensive cleaning element (17) disposed between the latter. The intensive cleaning element (17) is mounted on the wall of a washing liquid duct (11) extending longitudinally in the wiper strip (2) and, in order to perform intensive cleaning, intermittently contacts the vehicle windscreen (12) owing to the pressure of conveyed washing liquid. In order to improve wiping quality, the wiper strip comprises a rear strip (8) designed for connection to the wiper blade frame (1), and the two wiper lips (13) have the substantially triangular cross-sectional shape conventional with standard wiper strips, each being connected to the underside (15) of the rear strip (8) via a resilient tilting web (14). The washing liquid duct (11) is disposed in the rear strip (8) and thus substantially between the two wiping lips (13). Essentially, only the wall section of the washing liquid duct (11) which faces the vehicle windscreen (12) and on which the intensive cleaning element (17) is secured is resiliently deformed under the pressure of the conveyed washing liquid and is moved in the direction of the vehicle windscreen.
