The electrical connector consists of a plug and socket arrangement that has multiple contacts. The plug arrangement is in the base of a rectangular casing that has a guide plate to position a number of pins that project vertically and engage contact bushes in the socket unit. The wire end contacts are first crimped onto the ends of the specific cable cores and are then positioned in slots in the guide plate. An upper plate of the casing is secured to the base of the casing to secure the contacts by positive fitting.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen Stecker oder eine Dose für einen Steckverbinder mit einem Gehäuse (8,34), das ein Gehäuseoberteil (6,26) und ein damit verbindbares Gehäuseunterteil (7,27) aufweist, zwischen denen mit Steckkontakten (18,33) verbundene Kabelenden (14,32) angeordnet sind, wobei das Gehäuseunterteil und/oder Gehäuseoberteil Durchgangsöffnungen (20,31) aufweist, durch welche die Steckkontakte in Steckrichtung zugänglich sind und die Kabelenden in senkrecht zur Steckrichtung sich erstreckenden, im Gehäuseunterteil und/oder Gehäuseoberteil angeordneten Führungskanälen (10,28) aufgenommen sind. Um die Bauhöhe zu reduzieren und die Montage zu vereinfachen ist erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, daß die Steckkontakte mit den Kabelenden vormontiert sind und im vormontierten Zustand in die Führungskanäle einlegbar sind und durch Verbinden des Gehäuseoberteiles mit dem Gehäuseunterteil die Steckkontakte im Gehäuse formschlüssig gehalten sind. <IMAGE>
