[origin: EP0891728A2] The portable back part (16) for a bench (10) or a stool comprises a U-shaped metal frame (22, 24) and four traversal positioned plastic elements (25, 26, 28, 30). The frame (22, 24) has a clamping device (38) attached to each of its lower ends which comprises a rigid swivel mounted holding element (4) and a clamp (42) and is operated by an eccentric lever (44). A support element (18) can be attached to the stands of the bench/stool (10) to prevent the bench (10) or he stool from turning over.
