In order to allow the payment of bonuses only when a predetermined admissible total winning amount per game is not reached, the jackpot box (28) can be filled when certain winning or partial winning combinations are displayed by the play mechanism with symbols (1) and/or certain losses or partial losses are displayed by the bonus mechanism (18, 19), after these winning combinations and/or losses are converted into amounts of money by a computer.
