Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0893176A1] The parallel bars (5) of the machine which form a template for the reinforcing spiral (6) are designed to conduct electricity and act as welding electrodes. The armature-making machine consists of a rotary horizontal shaft (3) carrying at least three parallel bars which form a template for the reinforcing spiral. Each of the bars making contact with the spiral is able to conduct electricity and act as an electrode for welding together the coils of the spiral and lengthwise reinforcing elements. The bars are in pairs (50,51) connected by links (52) and adjusted relative to one another by power cylinders (53). The inner bar of each pair is fixed to the shaft and insulated from the outer one.
