Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0893540A2] The apparatus, used to form road verges and shoulders, has a tractor with a load platform (12) which tilts forwards. A funnel (2) is located at the leading end of the platform, to swing on a lateral axis (22). A brush roller is between the leading (4) and trailing (5) axles to clean the road surface of any scattered gravel. A vibrator (3) is provided and located after the rear axle to compress the spread gravel strip into a verge or shoulder. The tractor is formed by a vehicle which can be fitted with a carrier (1) for a number of appliances.
