[origin: WO9730314A1] A gas range (10) includes a gas distribution system (20, 210) which utilizes a gas manifold (34) that includes a single gas inlet chamber (46). Communication between the gas inlet chamber (46) and each of the burners (12) is controlled by a respective valve assembly (136, 220) mounted in the gas inlet chamber (20, 210). One of the valve assemblies (136, 222) is thermostatically controlled in response to a sensed temperature. The length of the gas manifold (34) can be dictated by the spacing of the individual valve assemblies or it can be dictated by the spacing of the burners (12). The gas distribution system provides additional flexibility to the range designer while reducing costs by eliminating components.
