[origin: EP0894893A2] A double fourdrinier section of a papermaking machine has continuous upper (11) and lower (12) fourdriniers which, at their entrances, are aligned on a horizontal plane or are pitched by a max. of 20 degrees to the horizontal. At the start of the double fourdrinier section, a suction roller (14) is positioned within the upper fourdrinier loop. Pliable pressure bars (15) bear against one of the fourdriniers, along a curved fourdrinier path, to induce pulsations in the fibre suspension, being held between the fourdriniers. At the end of the double fourdrinier section, both fourdriniers pass together over a suction roller (18) within the loop of the upper fourdrinier (12), and then, together, they pass over a third suction roller (19) within the loop of the lower fourdrinier where the upper fourdrinier is detached from the fibre web.
