[origin: EP0894941A1] The rotor has on the surface (6) of its rotor shaft (1) one or more rows of vanes each projecting through a foot (7) for fixing through the surface (6) into the rotor shaft (1). The projecting part of the shaft has at least one through-flow channel (9) which connects the recess (5) in the rotor shaft to the end of a foot facing the rotor shaft for the purpose of cooling same. A cooling medium such as cooling air can be provided in the recess. The projecting part of the shaft is attached to the end of part of the flow machine. The through flow channel can be set radial or inclined radial to the rotor shaft.
