[origin: DE19616994A1] A pyrotechnic circuit-breaking element for electric circuits has several current conductors (16) having each a separation section (17) through which the current conductor (16) can be sectioned. The pyrotechnic circuit-breaking element also has a pyrotechnically driven sectioning device (18) with a support (20) which carries several sectioning elements (32) for sectioning the separation sections (17) of the current conductor (16). The support (20) may be moved towards the current conductor (16) by firing a pyrotechnic charge (24). A sectioning element (32) is associated to each current conductor (16).
