The easel has a support formed by a foot or underframe and on which a working portion (51) is adjustable and lockable. The portion, typically a plate, frame or supporting arm, has a ball-joint (4) at one end via which it is mounted on the support (50) or a component (1) at the top of the latter, so that it protrudes freely in one direction. The component accommodating the ball-joint can be arranged to slew on a vertical spindle, on which it is lockable.

Bei einer Staffelei für bildnerische Darstellungsweisen sind ein gegenüber einem Stützteil (50) verstell- und feststellbaren Arbeitselement (51) und ein Ablagerahmen (52) vorgesehen. Das Arbeitselement (51) ist im Bereich eines Randabschnittes bzw. einem Endbereich derselben über ein Kugelgelenk (4) mit einem am Stützteil (50) angeordneten oder am oberen Abschluß desselben ausgebildeten Tragteil (1, 53) verbunden und kragt somit bezogen auf den Stützteil (50) in einer Richtung frei aus. Das Arbeitselement (51) ist über das Kugelgelenk (4) und einen entsprechenden Klemmhebel (5) in jede gewünschte Arbeitsposition zu bringen. <IMAGE>
