Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0897059A2] The hot gas engine (1) has a cam-controlled stem-guided inlet valve (2) to control a an inlet channel connecting a separate combustion chamber to the working chamber (3) of the engine. A levelling piston (7) compensates for the gas pressure in the inlet channel. The levelling piston is pressurized by the gas pressure existing in the working chamber on the opposite side to the gas pressure in the inlet channel.
