The switching device has two contact plates (1,2) connected to current conductors with at least one movable switching finger (3) attached to one plate (1) and contacts (13,17) on the fingers and the other plate (2). Each finger is connected to the contact plate via an extension strip (8). Each switching finger has a housing (7) which takes up the mechanical load. The extension strip extends into the housing as far as the finger contact.

Es ist eine Hochstrom-Schaltvorrichtung offenbart, die zwei an Stromleiter anzuschließende Kontaktplatten (1,2), wenigstens einen an einer der Kontaktplatten (1) angebrachten, bewegbar gelagerten Schaltfinger (3) und an den Schaltfingern und der anderen Kontaktplatte (2) angeordnete Kontakte (13,17) aufweist. Jeder Schaltfinger (3) ist über ein Dehnungsband (8) mit der einen Kontaktplatte (1) verbunden und ist mit einem die beim Schalten auftretenden mechanischen Belastungen aufnehmenden Gehäuse (7) versehen, in welches das Dehnungsband (8) hineinragt und sich in dem Gehäuse (7) bis zu dem Kontakt (13) des Schaltfingers erstreckt. <IMAGE>
