Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0897676A2] The method makes a type of hook strip (1) which can be used e.g. in fitting carpets to a hard surface. It (1) is plastic, e.g. polypropylene or polyethylene and is produced by extrusion, with mechanically-adherent sections (2) formed by e.g. hooks (3) or mushroom heads (6). Underneath it is smooth, with a coated, self-adhesive layer (7). A novel feature is use of a beam of energy or thermomechanical action to form passages (L) in the strip (1). These also pass through the self-adhesive layer (7). Also claimed is the corresponding hook strip.
