Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0897758A2] Coloured powder, especially inspection powder, is coated on vehicle bodywork surfaces before smoothing with abrasives during manufacture. In this new method, the powder is used in conjunction with a black background and wet abrasion is effected. The powder stands out as a result of colour contrast, being preferably orange. It is weakly-adhesive, and anchors itself on the background sufficiently well to offer resistance against water.
