[origin: EP0898057A2] The valve shaft seal consists of an elastomer seal body (1) with a spring (3) pressing the sealing lip (2) against the valve stem surface (4), and a holding part (6) connected to the seal body, by which the seal is fixed to the valve stem guide surface (11). In its sector fitting round the valve stem guide, the holding part has a region (9) at the front, narrowed in wall thickness and set back radially from the valve guide (7) to receive the seal body, and a rear reinforced region (10).
