Abstract (en)
An earthed cylindrical screen (4), carried on its end flange (4a) or on mask supports (6), surrounds the lamp tube (2a) near the reflector (1). The lamp (2), e.g. sodium iodide type, operates on a square-wave alternating supply, rich in harmonics. Its e.g. parabolic reflector (1), in aluminium-coated plastics, supports it, with the discharge tube (2a) approximately at the reflector focus. The lamp cap's (2b) wide collar (5) traps a flange (4a) on the screen against the reflector's rear face, on which hemispherical excrescences (1a) correspond with locating holes in the flange. Optionally the screen is a simple cylinder mounted between two metal beam mask (3) supports, also earthed.

Projecteur à lampe à décharge pour véhicule automobile comportant un réflecteur (1, 11, 21) concave dans le fond duquel est disposée une lampe à décharge (2, 12, 22), caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte, à l'intérieur du réflecteur (1, 11, 21), une bague métallique (4, 14, 24) qui entoure la lampe à décharge (2, 12, 22) à proximité de son culot et qui est reliée à la masse. <IMAGE>
