[origin: DE19735012C1] The method concerns production of a cast cylinder head for an internal combustion engine in a casting mould, according to which a sand core (8) is inserted into the mould to form a water space in the cylinder head. The method is characterised by the fact that before the casting process a component (10) is introduced into the sand core (8), and that this component remains in the water space of the cylinder head after the casting process.

Bei einem Verfahren zur Herstellung eines gegossenen Zylinderkopfes für eine Brennkraftmaschine in einer Gießform verbleibt zur Bildung des Zylinderkopfes ein Hohlraum zwischen einem Oberteil (2) und einem Unterteil (3) der Gießform. Zur Bildung eines Wasserraumes für den Zylinderkopf wird ein Sandkern (8) in die Gießform eingelegt. Vor dem Gießvorgang wird ein Verdrängungskörper (10) in den Sandkern für den Wasserraum eingebracht, welcher nach dem Gießvorgang in dem Wasserraum verbleibt. <IMAGE>
