[origin: EP0899228A2] The air cushion guide supports a paper sheet or web on a bearing air cushion. It has at least one guide body with jet aperture blowing air between the guide body (413) and the paper (401). The air volume flow flowing out of the jets, and/or the flow rate between the guide body and the paper can be set independently of each other, so that proportionality between these two values need not be observed.
