Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9701985A1] An apparatus for determining spectral absorption by a specific substance in a fluid having an energy source (48, 49), a sensor (34), an interface device, a support structure, and a connector (14). The energy source (48, 49) directs energy having a predetermined wavelength into the fluid. The sensor (34) produces an electrical output reflecting the energy it senses and indicative of the sprectral absorption of the specific substance. The interface device generates a reference voltage to allow the apparatus to cooperate with prior art devices. A support structure secures the other elements in proximity to the fluid. The connector (14) communicates electrical signals to a remote display device.
