Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19544545C1] A device is disclosed for adjusting the forcibly coupled seat and back of a dentist chair. The end (11) of the back next to the seat is guided in a curved guide (10) of the seat support (8) and the seat support (8) is joined to a top part (5) so as to tilt around an axis bolt (7) close to the back, so that when the back (12) is inclined, the seat support, together with seat and leg support (9), tilts backwards around the tilting axis (7) and vice versa, when the back is raised, the seat support tilts forwards. A flexible resilient force transmission member (15) is provided to forcibly couple the seat to the back. One end (attachment point 19) of the force transmission member (15) is attached to the top part (5) and its other end (attachment point 20) is attached to the end (11) of the back (12) next to the seat. The force transmission member is guided, as with a pulley block, on at least one pulley (16) and thus carries out an adjustment movement caused by the forced coupling of back and seat. A chain guided on chain pulleys is advantageously used as force transmission member.
