[origin: EP0903201A2] The clamp drive has a base and a slide driven by a threaded spindle and force multiplier. The base and spindle drive a slide with a bore for the latter. The slide can be mounted in a trough in the base and moves on guide rails. The spindle (1) has plain and threaded sections (2,3) of similar length to the slide bore (5). The slide has annular seal strips (7,8) at its ends.
