Rail (1), supporting the crystal while being sawn with a wire saw, has a section (3) adjacent to the crystal, the hardness of which corresponds to the hardness of the crystal. Preferably the rail is in the form of a structured composite body, the section (4) remote from the crystal being softer that the section adjacent to it.

Sägeleiste (1) zum Fixieren eines Kristalls (2) aus Halbleitermaterial beim Abtrennen von Scheiben von diesem Kristall mit einer Drahtsäge, mit einem an den Kristall angrenzenden Abschnitt, der eine Härte aufweist, die im wesentlichen der Härte des Kristalls entspricht, insbesondere, mit einem Abschnitt aus einem Material, das aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt ist, die Glas und Silicium umfaßt. Die Sägeleiste kann im Querschnitt als Hohlprofil (5) ausgebildet sein.
