[origin: EP0903248A1] The machine includes a motor driven turntable for rotating envelopes as necessary to ensure correct orientation on approach to filling machine. The machine supplies envelopes emerging from a general purpose printer for use in a machine which folds documents for insertion into the envelopes. It includes a device for detecting the position of the envelope at the output of the printer, and a device (26,28,30) for reorientation of the envelope to allow the insertion of the documents as a function of its position w.r.t. the detector. The detector senses the front of the envelope, whilst the reorientation device comprises a rotating turntable. This is driven by a motor (28) operating under the effect of a control (24). A second motor (32) is used to move a further plate which ensures that the envelope is gripped whilst it is rotated on the turntable.
