[origin: EP0903296A1] The device has upper suction elements (31) in the area of the sack openings. Lower suction elements (32) are moved between a sack lifted by the upper elements and the sack stack, to engage on the lower sack wall near the sack opening. A roller table moves in the plane of the suction elements in a direction from sack opening to sack bottom. The roller table has a sloping ramp and a horizontal support surface next to it.
