[origin: EP0903966A1] The lighting system (1) has at least one lamp (3) connected to a central unit (2), which has at least one light source (4) with an electronic control unit assigned to this, which is designed with a control input (6), for the control of an illumination level of the light source (4). Each lamp (3) is assigned a monitoring adapter module (7), which is wired between the control input (6) of the control unit (5) and a data line (8) is connected with the central unit (2).
