[origin: WO9747499A1] A motor vehicle seat-belt device wherein one length of the belt (12) passes through a guide (16) and extends towards the shoulder of a passenger strapped in by the belt (12), and wherein the guide is rotatably mounted on a carriage (22) vertically slidably mounted on the vehicle body. Said device comprises means for sensing the angular position of the guide (16) about its rotational axis (A1), and causing adjustment of the height of the carriage (22) until the sensed angular position is within a predetermined range.
