A unit has a housing (1) with a supply pipe (2) for the extinguishing agent, a carbon dioxide (CO2) supply pipe (4) with a dosing valve (3), and an outlet pipe (5). The housing has a vertical longitudinal axis and the extinguisher pipe is connected to the bottom of the housing, while the outlet pipe is connected to the top. The CO2 supply pipe joins the housing at the top and extends down to the bottom, with a nozzle (6) at the end. The CO2 moves in the opposite direction to the extinguishing agent, and the pipe length between the dosing valve and the nozzle is such that a gas cushion forms downstream of the valve when it is closed.

Eine Vorrichtung zur Einbringung von CO2 in ein vorzugsweise flüssiges Löschmedium besteht aus einem Gehäuse (1) mit einer Löschmittelzufuhrleitung (2), eines mit einem Dosierventil (3) versehenen Zuführrohres (4) für CO2 sowie einer Austrittsleitung (5). Das Gehäuse (1) ist in seiner Längsachse vertikal ausgerichtet; die Löschmittelzufuhrleitung (2) ist mit dem Gehäuse an dessen unteren Ende verbunden; die Austrittsleitung (5) zweigt vom oberen Ende des Gehäuses ab. Das CO2-Zuführrohr (4) mündet von oben in das Gehäuse ein, erstreckt sich bis an dessen unteres Ende hin und ist am Rohrende mit Eindüsungsmitteln (6) versehen. Das CO2 ist im Zuführrohr im Gegenstrom zum Löschmittel geführt; die Länge des Zuführrohres zwischen Dosierventil (3) und Eindüsungsmitteln (6) ist so bemessen, dass sich während des Betriebes bei geschlossenem Dosierventil (3) an dessen stromabwärtiger Seite ein Gaspolster (7) bildet. <IMAGE>
