[origin: EP0904828A2] A wear resistant worm, mixer shaft or similar machine component, for use in the building industry, comprises a metallic base material (1) with a highly wear resistant alloy (3) over the region in contact with the housing (2). The alloy consists of 0.75 pts. C, 4.3 pts. Si, 15 pts. Cr, 3.5 pts Fe, 3.1 pts B and the rest Ni. The alloy is applied by diffusion spraying, and is up to 1mm thick.
