Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0904848A1] Residual coating material remaining in the connection pipe (12) to an applicator (10) is pressed through the pipe by a displacer. This is e.g. a pig, charged by a pressure medium, an elastically deformable ball with a diameter, similar to the inner diameter of the connection pipe, or a flowing medium, which does not mix with the coating material. The medium is introduced via a valve from a feed pipe between the connection pipe and a blocked coating material feed pipe, before a material change valve unit opens a pipe for the next coating material.
