Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0905380A2] The de-aerator unit (3) has a de-aeration chamber (5), a self-acting air-release valve (9) and a strainer (3), and can be coupled directly to e.g. the suction or discharge side of a pump. The unit has a round cross section and parallel end walls, between which and parallel to is located a replaceable flat strainer disc with a fine mesh insert. The strainer is of approximately the same diameter as the de-aeration chamber, and is retained with e.g. snap-action clips. Water enters the inlet port (8) and strikes an impingement plate (13). De-entrained air rises through a bleed port (16) into a collector pot for the float-operated air release valve. The water passes through the strainer and leaves through the discharge port (15).
