Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0905660A1] The handling mechanism is placed below a column holding a stack of boxes (80, 82) and moves between an inactive and an active position. In the inactive position it can be moved laterally to take a position under the selected stack. In the active position a finger (40) is raised to engage the edge of the bottom item (82) on the stack. The carriage (20) supporting the finger is then moved horizontally, tipping the item onto a chute. A toothed belt drives the mechanism.
