[origin: DE19619825A1] The invention relates to a device for grinding-in cylindrical surfaces of workpieces, e.g. the bearing surfaces of crankshafts or the like, in which the workpiece (2) is arranged to rotate and can be driven at low speed. The device has a plurality of clamps (3A, 3B) surrounding the surfaces of the workpieces to be machined and distributed regularly about the circumference of said surfaces. In order to facilitate correct and high-precision machining of the workpiece surfaces with a simple machine structure, according to the invention the clamps (3A, 3B) have a high-strength polishing material on a polishing surface (4) and operate directly on the workpiece surface and the inside diameter of the polishing surface (4) corresponds to the final diameter of said surface.
