[origin: DE19624753A1] The invention relates to a hydraulic motor vehicle braking system with wheel slip control, with a pressure medium source (10) to which is connected a main pressure line (10) which leads to a wheel brake (8), with a pressure medium discharge line (7) connected to the wheel brake (8) and leading to a storage vessel (19) in which there is a pressure modulating valve which either disconnects the storage vessel (19) from the wheel brake (8) or connects it thereto, and with a flow control valve (1) fitted in the main pressure line (6) upstream of the pressure medium discharge line (7) and actuatable by altering the hydraulic pressure. To actuate the flow control valve (1) the braking system has a pressure chamber (2) fitted with check valves (3, 4), one (4) of which cuts the pressure chamber (2) off from a pressure medium branch (5) on the main pressure line (6) upstream of the control valve (1) and the other (3) of which connects the pressure chamber (2) to the union of the pressure medium discharge line (7) with the wheel brake (8), and in which an adjuster (9) is sealed in the pressure chamber (2) and is exposed in one direction of operation of the flow control valve (1) solely to the pressure from the pressure medium source (10) and in the other direction to the pressure change in the pressure chamber (2).
