Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0906738A2] The seat (22) can be tilted in a frame (14,16,18,20) on which it is mounted in order to recline the chair (10). A rotary damping element beneath the seat cushions pivoting movement of the seat. The seat may be pivoted about an axle in the top of the frame behind the damping element. A leaf spring returns the seat to its original position. A single gas spring can be used to cushion pivoting movement and return the seat to its original position.
